"Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken." (Psalm 55:22, NASB)
If you have lived long enough, you will have experience pain. "For it is not an enemy who reproaches me, then I could bear it; nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me, then I could hide myself from him. But it is you, a man my equal, my companion and my familiar friend; We who had sweet fellowship together walked in the house of God in the throng" (V12-14). The worst source of pain are from those friends or family - the people we open our heart to, confide in, do life with, share deep values, and consider as our own. They know our strengths. Worse, our weaknesses. They use our vulnerability against us in. Friends became foes. Have you ever felt anguish, the terrors of death fall upon you, and fear has overwhelmed your soul? When do you feel so deeply wounded, lonely, scared, and embarrassed that you wish you would become a small, that you Oh he wished that he could become even a helpless creature with the ability to fly away and be in solitude. It was as though a storm or wind has taken placed in his life and there is no where to hide. Can you feel his pain? Can you relate?
Yet, in righteousness God will sustain us. But we need to call upon His name. Our righteousness is found only in Christ has who became sin so we can take up his righteousness. And in that righteousness is peace, protection, and sustenance.
Prayer: Father, help me cast my burdens upon you. You are greater. You are God. You are Father. Yo are the true Companion and Friend. You can handle everything that I am willing to surrender to you. Amen!
